I ended up watching the whole season over the last couple days. Really enjoyed it. No BS drama, just a bunch of Canadians with awesome accents restoring some cars and trying to sell them. Sure, the dude who started the shop is a “personality,” but the guys are just trying to build a business off of a giant collection of cars sitting in a field. It’s really low-key and fun. Really reminded me of working with
my dad and uncle, in a shop while the snow’s piling up outside, pulling big pieces of metal off a pile and cutting, banging, and drilling it into shape.
Anyway, if you’ve seen it, lemme know what you think.

I havent seen that one, but i have been watching that Wrecks to Riches show, woth the long haired heavy metal guy and Rick, an artsy dude with glasses.
Love the concept of the show. They choose 1 single car from a huge collection from, usually, what looks like car hoarders, to fix up. Then they pick a bunch of other valuable cars to sell from that same collection to earn some money to finish the first car. The dynamic between Rick and the other guy is great. It does have some of the usual Discovery Channel drama, but not a whole lot.

If you like your Canadian wrenching with a little more alcohol and cigarettes thrown in you might check out these guys. The episodes vary between unbearably annoying to hilarious (at least to me) so YMMV. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoculxk4_H8XzjPS_zbYUpQ

See I had a different take, same BS drama as almost every other show I made it through 3 episodes.
We need to sell cars or we’re going to lose the shop, you underbid this project we’re losing money. Open the magic garage door and poof it is done. Now I magically have a buyer I didn’t have when I started the car.
All the same crap, spend a little more time talking about the CDM Pontiac Bellevue/chevelle mash up, show some rebuilding.

Fair enough. I haven’t watched very many car-related shows, because I can’t take the amped-up personal bullshit. I liked that this one was everyone working together.

Came to say this - I don’t feel quite as strongly I think, but it feels very standard car show to me. I don’t dislike it, but far from my favorite as well.
That said, I do plan to continue watching it.

I couldn’t get through a single episode. It’s copy paste TV at it’s worst.
“It’s not realistic!”
“It’s too much money!”
“We’ll never sell it in that color!”
Rinse, repeat, hold out 'er hand.

I guess I don’t watch enough TV.

This was the preamped up personal BS that became the norm after American Chopper, but it is a standard formula. Hell the roadkill Guys make fun of that formula
